Aquatics & Competitive Swimming

Swimming is a lifelong sport!  We offer a variety of ways to enjoy the sport of swimming and aquatic exercise at our 2-pool aquatic facility.  Be part or the "Wet Set" and make a splash!

Boys swimmingRecreational and Lap Swims
Recreational Swim is fun pool time for all ages! Children under age 9 and/or those unable to stand or swim must be accompanied by an adult swimmer. Lap Swim is exercise time for swimming the length of the pool for those ages 14 years and older. If you wish to know how many lap lanes are available during designated lap times, please pick up a Pool Schedule at the Welcome Center. Schedules subject to change. Contact Welcome Center to verify.

Water Fitness
Put a splash into your fitness routine. We offer more than 20 water fitness classes in the pool. If you prefer the therapeutic warm water of the Means Pool or the cooling water of the Aloupis pool, we have a class to meet your needs at our Second Street pool facilities.

Competitive Swimming
Ready for competition?  Our Barracuda Swim Team is a year-round competitive swimming program for swimmers ages 6 - 18 years of age with a primary focus of providing a strong developmental program where everybody wins!  Swimmers have the opportunity to develop values, self-discipline, time management skills, and self esteem, as well as proper stroke mechanics.  Zoomers is our pre-competitive swimming program specifically designed for children 9 years old and younger who have advanced basic swim skills but are not ready for competition.  Call the Barracuda Swim Staff to learn more about our competitive swimming programs!

Health & Safety Training Classes
Come learn necessary skills for lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid.  We offer the latest courses in the nationally recognized American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR Certification, and First Aid.  These courses teach lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies, skills for response and emergency preparedness for law enforcement personnel, nurses, flight attendants, and firefighters, and skills and knowledge individuals may need to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for sudden illness and injuries until the arrival of advanced medical personnel.  Call the Aquatics Department for more information or check with the Welcome Center for class availability!
