New Pension Protection Act Provides New Giving Options Do you have a Traditional IRA and are looking for a way to avoid paying income taxes on the growth of this account? Now you can contribute up to $100,000 per year to a charity such as the Bangor Y Charities by donating directly through your IRA? The passing of the Pension Protection Act of 2006 now allows donors aged 70 and older to contribute to the charity of their choice with no income tax penalty which also counts toward minimum required distribution requirements.
