Bangor Y Camps offer a variety of opportunities for kids and teens ages 3-18. Learn more about each of our Bangor Y camps below.

Our Day Camps begin registering ,Wednesday, April 2, 2008 (7am-8pm) for current Bangor Y members and child care participants. Public registration begins Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 8am. Campers may register at either Bangor Y location.

Camp Molly Molasses
A Traditional Day Camp on Chemo Pond in Bradley
For ages 5-12

Camp Molly is a summer day camp located on Chemo Pond in Bradley, and provides a beautiful setting complete with 1,200 feet of shoreline, forest lands, a ball field, high/low ropes course and lots of indoor classroom space. Campers can enjoy swimming, water games, fun Fridays, canoeing, cooking, arts and crafts, camp fires, hiking, fishing and theme days. Camp will run rain or shine and campers may be dropped off at our Second Street location as early as 6:30am and be picked up as late as 5:30pm.

Camp Peirce Webber
A Traditional Day Camp on the Soudabscook Stream in Hampden For ages 5 yrs through those entering 3rd grade in fall.

We provide an exciting traditional day camp program with physical activity, creative learning, and stimulation in a fun and safe environment. For parents we provide an open invitation to camp to observe your child and peace of mind with an experienced, well trained, supportive staff. Camp activities include swimming in our pool, arts and crafts and nature exploration. Come see our new state-of-the-art playground and pool pavilion! We also offer convenient drive-through drop off at our Hammond Street location. Camp will run rain or shine and campers may be dropped off at our Hammond Street location as early as 6:30am and be picked up as late as 5:30pm.

Camp Emerson
Adventurous Fun for the Older Camper at our Camp Webber site in Hampden
For children entering 4th-7th grades in the fall.

Camp Emerson is a traditional day camp with an added twist! Based at the Camp Peirce Webber facility in Hampden, campers will participate in activities such as archery, riflery, horseback riding, swimming in our pool, low ropes course plus weekly field trips! We also provide team building activities, rock wall climbing, sports and field games and a new state-of-the-art playground and pool pavilion. Drive-through drop off at our Hammond Street facility makes this an easily accessible program. Camp will run rain or shine and campers may be dropped off at our Hammond Street location as early as 6:30am and be picked up as late as 5:30pm.


Travel Camp

Day Camp Full of Travel, Adventure and Exploration!
June 23 to August 28
For ages 5-12
CIT/LIT program available!

sss Travel Camp
is a well-rounded program filled with adventure! We have the most excellent indoor and outdoor activities. We travel three days out of the week to scenic, historic, educational and recreational areas throughout Maine, as well as points of interest in the Greater Bangor area. Each trip will be filled with adventure, while we all learn something new through hands-on activities! COME JOIN THE FUN! Campers can be dropped off as early as 6:30am and picked up as late as 5:30pm. Kiddie Camp
A First Camping Experience
June 23 - August 8, 2008
Ages 3-6

Kiddie Camp is a half day program for young campers designed to develop social and physical skills and helps to encourage imagination in children. Our program is enriched with many exciting activities such as swimming, creative movement, gym, arts and crafts, singing, outdoor play, cooking, and field trips to make this an enjoyable first camping experience. Camp is held at the Bangor Y Second Street location from 8:30am-12:30pm and children may attend in full weeks at $65/week, or may choose Monday/Wednesday/Friday at $48/week, or Tuesday/Thursday at $36/week. Barracuda Swim Camps
Build Techniques for Competitive Swimming, Lifeguarding, and Swim Instruction

Zoomers Camp
Ages 5 - 9; beginner to intermediate swim skills required
Zoomers Camp is a great opportunity to introduce children to competitive swimming and gain valuable skills and techniques. Children must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke without stopping. Zoomers Camp is offered in one session, Monday through Thursday, 9:00am to 12:00pm. Each 1/2 day will be spent concentrating on one of the four competitive strokes. Basic techniques of each that will be taught are the kick, arm placement, rotary breathing, starts, turns, and finishes. Swimmers will also be trained in the fundamentals of reading a pace clock, lane etiquette, and pool rules. A typical day will include dry land and pool warm-up, stroke drills, instructional films, demonstrations, practice time, and daily review. Barracuda Stroke Camp
Ages 8 - 18; intermediate to advanced swim skills required

Barracuda Stroke Camp will provide a variety of training experiences for competitive swimmers with an emphasis on learning in a positive, encouraging atmosphere. Develop your four competitive swim strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle), learn the newest and fastest turns and improve your overall skill level. Barracuda Stroke Camp is offered in one session, Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm. Each day's training session will include stroke drills and techniques, starts, turns, and finishes to improve overall skill level. Goal setting, motivation, and nutrition will also be reviewed. The week will end with an inner squad meet and/or time trials! J.A.W.S. Camp
Ages 12 - 16

Come learn the basic skills needed for teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding. Put your skills to use as a volunteer instructor in our YMCA swim lessons program! Learn proper stroke techniques and various class management skills, basic skills for accident prevention, response techniques, and decision making. J.A.W.S. LIT Programs
Leaders-in-Training
Children entering 8th, 9th or 10th grades

Our Day Camps: Camp Emerson, Camp Webber, Camp Molly and Travel Camp; as well as our Resident Camp, Camp Jordan, offer day camp opportunities for aspiring leaders in our Leaders-in-Training Program. LIT's enjoy time with each other for team building, group games and leadership development with the LIT supervisor. Part of the learning experience involves working closely with our staff providing activities, creating a safe environment for our campers and learning first aid skills.
