There is nothing like the smile on a child's face after he has just challenged himself on the ropes course and achieved success doing something he had deemed impossible! Or seeing a young child learn to swim across a pool for the very first time. Or helping a cardiac patient build strength after a life-altering event. These things happen at the Bangor Y.
Your support of the Bangor Y Strong Kids Campaign will be behind those smiles and sense of pride and accomplishment. Every day, we see the difference the Y can make in the lives of kids, adults and families. The secure feeling a parent has knowing that her child is enrolled in a Y after school program, the budding self-confidence of a child who participates in the OPT program, and the healthy competition fostered in children who belong to the swim team. It's the positive values that are rooted in a teen's development during their involvement with Leader's Club or a summer Counselor-In-Training program. It's the social interaction of a group of older adults as good friends exercise together in the fitness room or the pool.
Everyone deserves the Y. Unfortunately, many are financially unable to participate in Y programs due to financial constraints. Through the Bangor Y's Strong Kids Annual Campaign, we can overcome the financial barriers and make the Y accessible to our entire community. Through the resources provided by donors like you, the Y can change lives for families and children in the months and years to come.
Last year, the Bangor Y provided more than 600 individuals with $121,301 in subsidized memberships and programs. These experiences are made possible by people like you.
Please consider a gift to the Strong Kids Annual Campaign Fund.. Our 2008 goal is $135,000. Together, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from the programs and services at the Bangor Y. With continued support, we can meet the goals of the Annual Giving Campaign and offer our community more opportunity, more enjoyment and more experiences • experiences that last a lifetime. Thank you for your consideration. For more information, contact Caren Mulford, Director of Development and Communications, at 941-2808.
