Junior Aquatic Water Safety
Ages 12 - 16 years

Come learn the basic skills needed for lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons. After completion, put your skills to use as a volunteer instructor in our YMCA swim lessons program! Learn proper stroke techniques, class management skills, pre-lifeguarding and water safety skills.  Participants will learn basic skills for accident prevention, decision-making, and response techniques.  For more information please contact Aquatics at 941-2808 or Aquatics@bangorY.org.

Lifeguard Training Course
A 32+ hour course, if successfully completed, provides a 3-year Lifeguarding certification as well as First Aid and 1-year CPR for Professional Rescuer certification.  Class participants must be 15 years or older.

April 19th - 23rd Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
May 10th - 13th & May 17th - 20th Mon-Thurs 5pm-9pm
May 14th - 16th & May 21st - 23rd Fri 5pm-pm & Sat-Sun 9am-5pm
June 4th - 6th & June 11th - 13th Fri 5pm-pm & Sat-Sun 9am-5pm
June 7th - 13th Sat-Sun 9am-5pm & Mon-Fri 5pm-9pm
June 28th - July 2nd Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
July 12th - 16th Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

This class does not offer any instruction. It is a TESTING ONLY course. No materials are provided.

CPR For The Healthcare Provider
A course intended for those with job related duties in response and emergency preparedness including law enforcement personnel, nurses, flight attendants, and fire fighters.

Classes will be available:

July 24th  9am - 3pm

Standard First Aid
A course designed to give participants skills and knowledge needed to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for sudden illness and injuries until the arrival of advanced medical personnel.

Community CPR
A general CPR course; not intended for those whose jobs may include rescue. AED certification is included.
