Opportunity Program For Teens (OPT)

Middle School:  Tuesdays, 3:00-4:30pm
High School:  Thursdays, 2:30-4:30pm

Boys meet at the Bangor Community Center
Girls meet at the Bangor Y
Develop new skills, discover new opportunities and build a foundation for the future.  Topics include adventure, creative expression, personal improvement, life skills, college preparation, job skills, fitness, substance abuse prevention and more!  There is no fee and you do not have to be a member of the Bangor Y to attend this program.  Contact Cathy Hamel at 941-2808 or chamel@bangorY.org.

Neighborhood Club

Mondays and Fridays, 3:30-4:30pm

For 3rd - 5th grade Boys and Girls
Meets at the Bangor Y
Come join the Bangor Y for fun and creative activities for our Brewer youth.  Children will participate in arts, community service, cooking, swimming and more.  Participants receive a free Bangor Y membership.  It is a great place to have fun, make new friends and be safe.  Contact Cathy Hamel at 941-2808 or chamel@bangorY.org.

Interact Leaders Club

Middle School:  Weds,  2:30-4:30 at the Dedham School
High School:  Tues, 6-7:30pm at the Bangor Y

For 6 - 12th graders
Interact is serious fun!  Make a difference in your community!  This service club is a school-year program to develop leadership skills in a social setting.  Develop presentation and career skills, and serve the community through service projects.  Bangor Area Breakfast Rotary's support of time, talent, and treasure will help meet common goals of service.  Contact Adriana Hopkins at 941-2808 or ahopkins@bangory.org.

JumpStart Diversion Program

Tuesdays, 5:30-7pm

For youth ages 12-17
Meets at the Bangor Police Department
Teaches decision making skills, goal setting and personal responsibility.  Offered by the Bangor Y through referrals from the local police departments to first-time non-violent juvenile offenders.  Contact Cathy Hamel at 941-2808 or chamel@bangorY.org.

Y-Outreach at Capehart

Monday through Friday, 2:30-5:00pm

For 4th - 8th graders
Residents of Birch Circle, Griffin Park and Old Capeheart have a local Y facility serving 4th-8th graders, as well as a drop in program for high schoolers.  Join us for team building, games, field trips, crafts, cooking, homework help and computer lab.
