Camp Director-David Hamel
David has only been working full time with the Bangor Y since October of 2008 as the Sports and Recreation Director, but has been involved with the Y in a number of capacities since 1990. He has worked at Kiddie Camp as a counselor, Camp Molly as a ropes course director, and volunteered with the Y at numerous events. David worked for three years at Camp Susan Curtis in Southern Maine while attending college and was a program supervisor for all three years. After graduating college, he worked in public education for 7 years, then social services for 3 years before joining the Camp Peirce Webber team. David lives in Bangor with his 7 year old daughter, Grace.
Assistant Camp Director-Ilyse Angst
Ilyse has been a member and employee of the Bangor Y for more than 10 years. She has worked in childcare, the sports and recreation program, and summer camps during her tenure here. She is currently a 3rd year student at Husson College studying to become an Elementary School Teacher. Ilyse brings a wonderful attitude and patience with her to camp and her ability to reach all levels of children is second-to-none. |
