The Program Aid position is a privilege we offer to the campers who have displayed great responsibility in the CIT and LIT programs they have participated in.  You do not have to be an alumni of our CIT and LIT program but it does help.

After you apply for the position of Program Aid we may send you an invitation for either the first half of the summer or the second half of the summer.  How many invitations we send out will depend on the number of spaces we have available and not everyone will be able to participate just because they apply.

If you are interested in being a Program Aid? Apply here!

ADVANCED EXPEDITIONARY CREW (AEC)

For "Senior Leaders" between 16 and 18 years Find Solutionof age

The Advanced Expeditionary Crew (AEC) is a limited capacity program offered to recent Leaders School graduates that presents a true wilderness living experience right on the grounds of Camp Jordan and surrounding areas. Crew members will be offered high level instruction on wilderness and supervision skills in an experiential learning setting.

Leaders SchoolThe AEC experience involves living in rustic shelters constructed by the crew members themselves and preparation of all meals right at the camp site. Each day involves the AEC’s own brand of Zen Swim, physical fitness activities, time for reflection and journal entries, and advanced instruction in subjects such as: wilderness first aid, fire making (without matches!), leave-no-trace camping, backcountry navigation and hiking, off-road biking, rock climbing, knots, campsite blades and safety, cook stoves and fuel, trekking and backpacking, supervision of young campers, facilitation of experiential learning modules, etc.

Crew members will also spend time on tasks dedicated to team building and development of leadership skill and self-confidence.

The AEC Challenge Day experience is a true challenge: a lengthy trek with full backpacks over a variety of terrain with only a map and compass to navigate to the destination.AEC Tent Success will depend upon crew members’ ability to function as a team and to support and cooperate with each other.

AEC graduates who seek to return to Leaders School as staff members will bring a wealth of valuable knowledge and experience to those positions. Past AEC graduates have already established themselves as outstanding members of the Leaders School staff roster.

AEC is limited to 12 members between the ages of 16 and 18 years old. If you wish to be considered for AEC, please apply by:
