The Program Aid position is a privilege we offer to the campers who have displayed great responsibility in the CIT and LIT programs they have participated in.  You do not have to be an alumni of our CIT and LIT program but it does help.

After you apply for the position of Program Aid we may send you an invitation for either the first half of the summer or the second half of the summer.  How many invitations we send out will depend on the number of spaces we have available and not everyone will be able to participate just because they apply.

If you are interested in being a Program Aid? Apply here!

CAMP JORDAN ALUMNI TESTIMONIALS

My time at Camp Jordan helped me to build lifelong friends. I learned new outdoor skills, learned silly skills like how to catch a greased watermelon, but most of all I learned how to laugh, listen and bond with people I haven't met before. Those skills have helped me throughout my life.
Scott Dunning / staff 1985, 2001 - 2003

My camp experience was amazing, Camp Jordan was like my second home, I have so many memories from being a camper, and many more when I'm a PA-counselor; it's a place that I will never forget. Especially Uncle Paddles.....:)
Danny Michaud a.k.a. Shamu / camper 2000 - 2006, staff 2007

There are no words to describe the appreciation I feel for the opportunity to learn from some of the best people in the world at a place that will always be heaven on Earth to me.
Joel Bragdon / camper 1 year , staff 7 years

Immeasurable. I remember kicking and screaming when my folks took me to Camp Jordan 25 years ago. So many memories and good times. Good to see my counselor for four of my years posted here! Hope all is well with you Tom!
Pete Barbalias / camper 1982 - 1986

Excellent - I spent 2 great summers traveling from Scotland to work at Camp Jordan and have great memories including Camp Rainbow, the KYBO's, knowing which was the best shower to use, polar bear club, never being able to master tether ball, theme days, the list goes on and on.
Donald Sisson / staff 1995 - 1996

Camp Jordan was the best experience of my life to date. I made friends and did things that made me the person I am today, and these memories will last me the rest of my life. I LOVE CAMP JORDAN!
Kristin Johansen / camper 2003 - 2007

I loved my summers at CJ. I made wonderful friends and fantastic memories.
Susan Ridgely (Bales) / camper 1986 - 1989, staff 1990 - 1991

I hope my kids get the opportunity to enjoy Camp Jordan for themselves - it was absolutely one of the best experiences of my life!
Jennifer Dow / camper 1978 - 1981, staff 1982 - 1984

Camp Jordan provided me with memories that I will always cherish. Great friendships, the breeze off Branch Lake, "Moonlight Dips", learning to water ski, "Polar Bears"... the list goes on and on. I had the pleasure of returning to Camp Jordan, for the reunion, with my family a couple years ago. It was very special to me to see that much of what I had loved still exists, and to share it with them.
Rob Dunning / camper 1975 - 1979, staff 1980

Having never gone to summer camp as a kid, working at Camp Jordan gave me the opportunity to experience what "camp magic" really is. I wouldn't trade my five summers at CJ for the world! I love and miss each and every person who touched my heart during my time at camp.
Monica Wing / staff 2000 - 2004

CJ was some of the best years of my life. I can't describe all the friends I have made from there that have continued through most of my adult life. I have to say I also learned so much from Ted Reidt that I carry with me to this day. I also have to say that I learned so much from Eric Taylor on the Ropes course. Thanks to him and the course I came out of my shell from a quiet shy kid to a confident fearless adult. Thanks to everyone I have ever met through camp.
Sean Webber / camper 1978 - 1982, staff 1983 - 1986

My first year was supposed to be a one week session, but that turned into a two week session followed by 15 of the best years of my life!
Thomas England II / camper 8 years, staff 7 years

Some of my best friends were made at Camp Jordan, and 20 years later they are still some of my best friends.
Brad Coffey / camper 5 years, staff 5 years

Experience a summer camp was something I'd never done before and I shall never forget the experiences and people who made up the most amazing summer ever. I hope I can return again some day.
Jamie Wallis / staff 2003

Camp Jordan changed my life forever!! I made friends that brought me the best memories!!! I felt like I was finally home every time I stepped at camp. The air was different!!! I never want to forget the songs we sang on the porch. And will never forget Lester!!
Isabella Fava / camper. staff

I started Camp Jordan when I was 7 years old and I still hold my memories close to me and plan on having my children attend as they get older no matter where we live. I remember my first counciler? sp haha and her name was Kate, I was in Kiwanas at the time, every night she would sing us "YESTERDAY” the song the Beatles wrote, and ya know what I sing that song to my children who are 2 and 5 they find it so soothing just like I did, being a first time camper at 7 years old. I could go on and on about the wonderful experiences I had at this camp but it is way too much to write, I will always remember my first camp dance, and my first swim test and the funny songs we would sing in the dining hall, oh yeah and cleaning the kybo's haha the bathroom.
Sincerley Molly Warren (Payson)

The best, most memorable years I have ever had. It was a great experience and I was thrilled a few years ago when my niece followed in my foot steps.
Kimberly Simpson

Camp Jordan has always had a very special place in my heart. My CJ friends and experiences truly shaped me into who I am today. Most CJ memories bring a smile. I had more CJ friends at my wedding than I did high school friends. My husband didn't 'get it' (what camp meant to me all these years) until we attended the reunion in 2003 and saw how connected all of us still are. I wish all kids could have the opportunity of attending camp like CJ. Aloha to all!!!

I am a 29 year old mother of two, and we live in Ellsworth. I went to Camp Jordan when I was younger and I remember having many different feelings about it. I was scared to be away from home but I was excited also. I loved having the pajama parades in the morning. I loved the look and feel of all the cabins. I close my eyes right now and I see the store where I bought Spree candy for the first time. I see the bunk I used to sleep in. I see the dance hall where I danced with a boy for the first time. I see the swings and the rocks we used to climb on. I bet the Camp has changed in the many years I have been absent but what I love was the freedom and the excitement of the whole experience. I still have my Camp Jordan Yearbook. I was in the Lions Den. We were the best. LOL
I am so happy that you are doing this. I truly hope I get a chance to send my son there soon. I would love to go back and see the Camp again. Memories are flooding back. Thank you

My camp experiences were unforgettable! Living in Kiwanas Cabin, singing "Yesterday" (hey Molly!), teaching swimming, tennis, soccer, windsurfing, and building relationships with others are all vivid memories. As a teenager, being directly responsible for the well being of twelve little girls provided me with life long lessons and helped to shape my character. Camp activities allowed me to discover my love of the outdoors as well. I continue to backpack, kayak, rock climb, surf, sail and hike out here in California. Of course, I still think about my campers and the amazing staff with whom I had the honor of working. Thanks Camp Jordan!!!
