Swim Lessons - Youth Programs

Polliwog
For the inexperienced swimmer. Children will learn to bob, glide with face in the water, kick, front and back float and to swim 15 feet without assistance.
Ages: 6 - 12 years
Guppy
Children will learn rhythmic breathing, to swim 25 yards or front and back float, to jump in the deep end and will learn beginning diving skills.
Ages: 6 - 12
years
Minnow
Refine front crawl with rotary breathing, back and side strokes. Focus will also be spent on refining diving skills, treading water and building endurance.
Ages: 6 - 12
years
Fish
Youth will refine dives, open turns, swim 50 yards front crawl, back, breast, and side strokes and elementary backstrokes.
Ages: 6 - 12
years
Flying Fish
Swimmers will learn butterfly and flip turns, learn individual medley, tread water and survival float and swim 100 yards of front crawl, back, breast and side strokes.
Ages: 6 - 12
years
Shark
Swimmers will review all six strokes with emphasis on endurance, water safety skills and rescue techniques. Youth will swim 100 yards of front crawl, backstroke, breast stroke, sidestroke and elementary backstroke and 50 yards of butterfly and 200 IM.

J.A.W.S. (Junior Aquatic Water Safety)Learn the basic skills needed for lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons. After completion, be a volunteer in our swim lessons program! Learn proper stroke techniques, class management skills, pre-lifeguarding and water safety skills. Participants will learn basic skills for accident prevention, decision-making, and response techniques.
