About the Instructor
Kim Robichaud has been climbing since 1997. She is one of the strongest and may be the most accomplished female climber to ever come out of the state of Maine. From 2000-2002 Kim was nationally ranked by the American Bouldering Series (ABS) as one of the top 10 female climbers in North America. In 2001, she reached a 2nd place ranking. That same year, just two months removed from a torn ACL, Kim placed 7th at Super Bloc, a famous, international competition held in Florence, Italy which hosts the best competitive climbers in the world. Climbing has taken Kim across the globe to the world's best climbing areas like Joshua Tree, Boulder, Rifle, Heuco, the Gunks, Rumney, Conway, Italy, Switzerland, Halifax, Smuggler's Notch, New Mexico, Flagstaff and Yosemite. Locally, Kim is known for dozens of first ascents in the vast boulder fields of
Clifton and Dedham and for winning the Boulder Bash, the University of Maine's annual climbing competition, for 8 consecutive years. Kim has appeared in Climbing Magazine, she is licensed by the Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA) as a climbing guide and does some occasional group work for Acadia Mountain Guides.
