Adult Learn-To-Swim

It’s never too late to learn how to swim! Whether you’re wanting to conquer your fear of water, learn swim basics or are training for your next triathlon, there’s a place for everyone in our Adult Learn-To-Swim program. Classes will be held once a week for four weeks.

Our Y is able to provide this amazing opportunity for free due to funding we received from a USA Swimming Foundation Adult Learn-To-Swim Grant and Y-USA Swim Lesson Grant. Unfortunately, funds for free swim lessons are no longer available.

Level 1: Water Introduction

This is the perfect level to help individuals who are afraid of the water! Our Swim Instructors will work at a slow pace so that everyone’s comfort level with the water progresses to being able to put their face in the water. We’ll help you overcome and manage your fear of water!

Level 2: Stroke Introduction

In Stroke Introduction, you’ll learn the foundation of front crawl with a focus on rotary breathing and elementary backstroke.

Level 3: Stroke Development

In Stroke Development, you’ll refine your front crawl and backstroke. This class also introduces/refines breaststroke and butterfly.
