Adult Swim Lessons
April 22nd – June 16th, 2019
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than a third of American adults cannot swim the length of a pool. It is our Y’s goal to help fix this problem in our community! Our Swimming Saves Lives Adult Lessons are taught by Certified Swim Instructors and are designed for all adults with different swim experiences — from those who are afraid of the water to those who are experienced and want to learn how to improve their strokes.
Level 1: Water Introduction
This is the perfect level to help individuals who are afraid of the water! Our Certified Swim Instructor will work at a slow pace so that everyone’s comfort level with the water progresses to being able to put their face in it. We’ll help you overcome and manage your fear of water!
Level 2: Stroke Introduction
In this class, you’ll learn the foundation of front crawl with a focus on rotary breathing and elementary backstroke.
Level 3: Stroke Development
We’ll introduce the breaststroke in this class and continue improving your backstroke and front crawl.
Level 4: Stroke Improvement
This level for swimmers will have a grasp on freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke and want to improve their technique.
COST: $45 Members | $75 Non-Members
Scholarships are available. Registration ends April 30th.
