This FREE 5-Week Program for Y Members is the perfect introduction for any youth who understands the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle and wants to use our Fitness Center and Weight Room on their own, taking advantage of their Y membership.
Kids will meet with Courtney Cotnoir, Fitness & Training Manager, to learn about the many aspects of fitness as well as having the privilege of a gym membership. Classes will be taught in an instructional and hands-on format and will cover topics including:
- Cardiovascular exercise
- Strength and functional training
- Exercise principles
- Age-appropriate physical activity recommendations
- Proper machine use and gym etiquette
At the end of this program, each participant will be asked to demonstrate their knowledge so that Fitness Management can sign off on these “future fitness trainers” to use our two spectacular fitness centers, on their own, as part of their youth or family membership.
