Young at Heart: Music, Movement, and Memory is a 12-week group for those affected by Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinson’s, and other neurological disorders and their Care Partners. This class uses live music to stimulate your mind, jog your memory, and get your body moving. Current research suggests that engaging in music is the best workout you can do for your brain. No musical experience is necessary. We incorporate rhythm challenges, singing, listening exercises, brain games, and movement into this full-brain and body workout.

What is Music Therapy?

Music therapy is an evidence-based healthcare profession that uses music as a tool to meet nonmusical goals. Music therapists are credentialed healthcare professionals with extensive training. Board-certified music therapists work to address measurable goals and ease symptoms in areas such as physical functioning, communication, cognitive/academic skills, motor skills, mental health, sensory integration, and social skills.
